Mohamed Nor Maleeq earned his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Middlesex University London, UK, in 2022. He then pursued a Master of Laws (LLM) at the University of Birmingham, UK, completing his degree in 2023. His academic focus included commercial law, media law, intellectual property, and taxation.
During his studies, Mohamed gained hands-on legal experience through various roles. He worked as a Paralegal at Kanzul Al Hapi Partners, where he assisted in drafting and reviewing commercial contracts under both English Common Law and UAE Civil Law. His work covered sales and purchase agreements, asset purchases, investment contracts, and financing agreements for high-profile clients in the UAE and the broader MENA region.
Mohamed also undertook a legal work-shadowing role at MAC Global, a subsidiary of Sony, where he gained insight into the media and entertainment industry. He contributed to contract reviews, legal research, and client onboarding while assisting in negotiations and business planning.
Currently, Mohamed serves as a Junior Legal Associate at Playbell & Co/ Stefani Legal Consultants, an international boutique law firm operating in the UAE and Cyprus. In this role, he provides legal research and advisory services on commercial, corporate, UAE land law, and tax regulations. He specializes in drafting and reviewing agreements, corporate structuring, regulatory compliance, and assists multinational corporations with incorporation, licensing, and compliance matters in the UAE. He also advises on financial regulatory matters, including DIFC and ADGM entities, Dubai Health Authority compliance for medical establishments, and investment fund licensing.
Mohamed has also gained experience in financial regulatory compliance, including obtaining financial licenses from the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) .He also provides advisory services on matters related to the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), ensuring compliance with digital asset regulations.
Mohamed is fluent in English, Malay, and Indonesian.
